Eva Thakran is a first year student pursuing her master's in Cyber Security. She has always been passionate about cyber security and it's related aspects. She has done three prominent security internships , one at ISAC(New Delhi) another at VolvoEicher Pvt Ltd, She gained hands-on experience on tools like Falcon Crowdstrike, Kali Linux, etc.She also attended the Gurugram Police cyber security summer internship'21 to get trained about the cyber crimes, deep web, dark web, ransomware, etc. She is keen about resolving everyday cyber threats and social media crimes and hence is pursuing masters in order to expand her horizon of knowledge in this field.

Social media being accessed relentlessly has brought social media related crime to accelerate. Attackers, stalkers and amateur students are the mostly found to be the culprits of it. Social media crime includes online threats, stalking, cyber bullying, buying illegal things, distribution of pornography, hacking and fraud etc.The LexisNexis Risk Solutions released its biannual Cyber crime Report covering July 2020 through December 2020, which details how the evolving threat landscape created new opportunities for cyber criminals around the world, particularly as they targeted new online users.This report also concluded that young adults and adults over 75 most vulnerable to fraud attacks.
